VOLVO Fest 2011 – Co-organized by VOCM & SportsAgenda

An evening with VOCM .....
14th Jan 2011, VOCM organized VOLVO Fest 2011 and the event was basically planned with the main purpose of meeting up with Northern, southern, Eastern and Central members. Of course, it was also to welcome the New Year and to kick-off 2011 get-together for other members as well.
This year, SportsAgenda (owned by one of VOCM member) has agreed to be the main sponsor and it was held at their establishment, a few meters away from Zoo Negara Jalan Ulu Klang, along MRR2 highway. The fest officially started at about 7.30pm with members start to arrive from as early as 7pm. There was also Refreshments complimentary from the main sponsor waiting. Fried rice, noodles, sausages and fried chicken comes with a non stop Teh-Tarik and cold drinks for the entire evening are some of the deal one may not find elsewhere in any of the TT's.
As for the outstation members, the northern Region members assembled at Sungai Petani Kedah on 14th Jan Noon while Southern Region members assembled in JB on 14th Jan evening for a nice and ‘fast’ convoy to the event. The much awaited group from southern JB finally arrived around 11pm with their convoy of about 11 cars. Group from East Cost arrived much earlier. We believe they have probably started their journey much earlier.
All the members were asked to proceed to the registration tables as they arrive. The registration was mandatory not only to get all their attendance to the event recorded but most importantly for their car registration number to be randomly picked up for a Lucky draw prizes.
To make sure no one leaves with an empty handed, each member who registered was given a goody bag with souvenirs like T-shirts and baseball cap complimentary from the main and co-sponsors. Mcguire, Pennzoil and Ultra Racing were the co-sponsors for that evening. A special gratitude is extended to all the sponsors for making that evening possible and a memorable one.
In return the co-sponsors were given a space for them to set-up their booth to showcase their product and quite an attractive offer were formulated just for that evening especially for Volvo owners.
To further cheer up the night our main sponsor, SportsAgenda has invited 10 ‘Welcome girls’ from the local ‘umbrella’ girls corporation. Without mistakes all the members do appreciate their presence as part of the event.
As promised, sharp at 11.30pm VOCM PR&Event Head called for an attention to start the Lucky Draw. It was a bombshell moment to witness total of 29 numbers were called. Numbers were drawn by members themselves who came forward as the MC randomly called their names. They receive prizes from Lubrication, transmission oil, detailing products and bars from Ultra Racing.
2011 VOCM Mega fest has witnessed the awesome attendance of not less than 80 VOLVO cars from all models and production year. It was at this event where we get to witness the evolution of Volvo from RWD version as early as 1970’s to the latest FWD and the highest spec ‘R’ model. The response from members was really positive and with the participation from other sponsors in the future, VOCM is definitely considering organizing this same event more often for all members and Volvo Owners.
Last but not least VOCM would like to thanks all the members for their support and especially to all the sponsors for their contribution to make this yet another successful event by VOCM for all members and VOLVO owners in Malaysia.
